OOC: I have this slight suspicion that I will never be invited to be on the podcast in character.

 

The recent winning items are interesting! The concept for the divine armor was good in my opinion and despite the fact that all three cards are different you can feel the synergy. And of course, gulo gulo's staff is a great addition (his submissions are always good imo). I actually see myself using both items.

 

The divine armor seems fine, but I really dislike gulo gulo's entry being selected as a winner. Smoke and water, while thematically cool, are just annoying cards to play against. They are very binary and either extremely good or extremely useless. Some of the most frustrating cards to deal with on certain maps that just will spell instant victory or defeat.

 

I'd love to try the staff out, but I'm no good at this Mauve Manticore thing. Wanted to try it out in multiplayer before anyone else, but alas, that is not to be, it seems.

 

The rules of AA say that you should get a copy delivered straight to your inventory, have you checked for it yet?

 

It's not there; perhaps it is hiding behind a smoke screen.

 

Great submissions and congrats to Gulo on a much needed staff that opens up possibilities for mages.

 

It's a double major. I don't think we have to worry about it taking over the meta.

 

It really isn't the token cost or chance it will take over the meta that is the problem in my eyes. Just the cards aren't fun. They need some retooling, especially Smoke Bomb.

 

I haven't distributed prizes yet... about to do that!

There are TWO broad categories of acceptable submissions this month.

One, you can resubmit any item you previously submitted to this contest.

Two, you can submit any item that includes a card that you think is cool, but currently unplayable due to itemization. As an example, Massive Chop is a cool, undervalued chop card, but Giant Skeletal Arm is largely unplayable due to its Raging Strikes. Pick a card like Massive Chop and design an item with it that you would like to use. Remember not to make it too strong—but still, push it toward viability. This won't be an easy design challenge, but I have a lot of faith in you crafters at this point. Note: there is no objective measure of a card's usability for the purposes of selecting a card to design around. This is subjective. Use your best judgment.
Does that really mean you can't resubmit other people's items?

 

I don't see how this isn't clear.

 

It was clear but I wanted to make sure it was intended.

 

Pity you cant just forward anyones old design. But that would exclude accidental recreation and getting heavily inspired by good entries as well.

Do cards like Bungled Heal and Healing Benediction that existed prior in the game on player items but were changed when AotA came out count for the second rule? That was actually what I thought reintroducing a card meant until I read the clarification.

 

They're not on items right now so they're not technically player cards. Also some of those cards aren't actually in the game anymore.

 

Bungled Heal is just a memory now. Healing Benediction is a recognized card.
