Rampant Instaquitters suck all the fun out of league

There is a huge problem with people joining league games, then immediately quitting. It undermines the whole league system by ensuring that someone always gets maximum points for a game because of some instaquitter who doesn't care. And when you get 1 win with 6 points, you typically can't place below third.

i wonder why thats happening to this extent lately. Did some misinformation about minimal rewards spread?

Playing cheesy, lame builds also suck the fun out of the entire game, but i don't think that anything can be done about it. You can't force people to do something that they don't want to.
Let's say that there are 30 minutes left for league Barrels to end and i haven't played any games. I queue for my first league game and i am matched against someone like Soularmadyl (nothing personal against him, just used a random example of a top player) who is playing burfft dwarves. Now, why on earth should i be obliged to waste my time playing a game that i know i can't win 99% of the times and that it will be no fun at all for me, when i can quit (i really think that the term ragequit is truly stupid) and find another matchup that is more favorable in order to have a chance at winning a purple chest in the limited time that i have before the league ends?
Don't get me wrong, i don't quit regularly but there have been quite a few times that i remember doing so when i felt that there was no point playing a game.
If you want to have less quitters in league games then the entire league system needs to be changed.

i seem to remember that when this new rotation started i looked at the waterways info (i think it was waterways) and it said you needed one match to get any reward. i know for a fact that this is not true but at the moment it seemed like you would be forced to play a game no matter what.

The cited example doesn't sound at all lame, nor do any items contain dairy products. Perhaps "Devastatingly effective," would be a better summation.
What did you expect, a fair fight?
I suspect messaging the insta-quitting players and politely explaining that actually joining a game isn't necessary to get last-place rewards would probably fix most of this.

  7. It can on some occasions be a legitimate strategy but I think people use it far too liberally. I've only ever done it twice and that was with only enough time left for one game and drawing 3 elf wizards in QD.

A portion of these (probably not too many though) are probably due to new players playing in a league (such as Wicked Waterways) without realising their decks are wholly unsuited for it, or have forgotten which is which. To be honest, I rather like getting free chests with minimal effort (the wait usually isn't that long), and don't really care if others sometimes have an easier time of getting to first place due to quits. Admittedly, the higher-rated you are, the more likely people will quit against you, which is just speeding up the elites' accumulation of items. I think a lot of players give up too easily, but forcing them to play games that they know (or strongly suspect) they'll lose isn't doing any good (not that I see any viable way to do that anyway); even battles are more fun (I find) than mismatched ones.

That reminds me of the time I was trying out this new league (I thought I was) and I thought we both got given random teams. In the middle of round 2, I realized that I was using my MP team(it was not made for regular pvp(it was my guild initiation team)). At the end I won that game and it was a close game.

I have noticed a group of 5 players doing this recently, and checked their standing (I realize it's not connected with leagues) and it's around -1000, happened a bit before the waterways league, can pm the list of names if anyone else wants to monitor, depending on how important this issue is.

Are it names that all vaguely sound like greek gods and other mythological figures?

I think that you misunderstood the point i wanted to make, maybe i didn't express my thoughts well enough.
The part of my post that you quoted and the example that i used in my post are not directly connected. The former is an unpleasant but unavoidable part of the multiplayer experience that you have to accept and move on, just like the issue described in the original post, while the latter is just an example that i used to explain why i think quitting a league game should be totally acceptable under certain circumstances.
As to what makes a build lame, cheesy or devastatingly effective as you prefer to say, is not a matter that should be discussed in this thread and it was not even my intention to start such a debate. It has nothing to do with a fight being fair or not. You know that i have tremendous respect for you, but since you don't play ranked anymore you just can't understand how it feels to face the same overpowered builds in 4 out of 5 games. I have just accepted it and moved on instead of complaining about it, since there is nothing that can be done to avoid it.

now that you say it's a group of players who instant quit... maybe they are multiple accounts of the same person trying to give the win to 1 main account?
If so it's probably a breach of term of use / bannable.

From what I've seen, that is my assumption, as these accounts seem to face each other quite often.

Have noticed in multiple leagues their names popping on and off of the top of the matches in progress, thought it was a one time thing until I saw it happen more often with the same group of names matching up with each other. My guess is it's one user trying to match with themselves but then sometimes get a regular player and then instant quits.

Yes, I misunderstood. When I played MP the builds of that ilk were 3DC and VP dwarves with either a buff priest or a WW wiz. Respect to you as well, sir.
    Back to the topic:
@MathuranF , I think @Flaxative or @Jon might want to see that list.

This would absolutely be unacceptable behavior. No need to publicly identify players, but if you can PM Flaxative or Jon and let them know the potential perpetrators and the situation they can actually go back and look at their records and see if abuse exists.

  17. Or you could just, you know, use the report function in the game. That's what it's there for after all.

I'll let mods know as I see them in-game to monitor the situation, that way in-case there's no way of tracking it for the Devs (don't really know how that side of it works) They have multiple and trusted sources giving the same info. I wouldn't name then on the forums at the chance I am wrong, don't want to slander their names.
