This is an idea that isn't really mine, I should say first. It came from a game CT5 was playing on one of his streams/videos, Duelyst, where if you win the game you can tip your opponent 5 gold. I like this idea not only because it could help make the community more friendly, but also because I would like to have some way to give my opponent a reward for a well- fought battle, even if he didn't win it. Now, I realize this could be abused, so there could of course be restrictions. For example, to prevent two people tipping each other whenever they meet up, you could put a restriction on the number of times an opponent can tip someone. As far as, say, someone popular always being tipped, you could say you can only get that gold a certain amount of times per day. I realize other arguments against it, such as for example it making the community worse if it becomes disrespectful to NOT tip the opponent, however I figured I'd still mention it because our community is small enough that I think it would be easier to prevent that from happening by managing the community then, say, in hearthstone. Honestly, this is kind of a selfish suggestion from me in that I like doing selfless things- it makes me happy. However, there doesn't really seem to be a way to express that selflessness innately in-game. When I saw this system in Duelyst, it seemed like a great, small way to do it, so I figured I'd suggest it here. One last thing- I expect that overall its unlikely any kind of transfer between two peoples acounts, whether it be gold or items, will ever really happen simply because you guys seem to want to keep anything from happening at all. i just figured I'd mention I'm aware of that possibility, yet I'm still willing to see if this idea would be at all possible. All right, thanks for reading! Hopefully this suggestion was usefull in some way, even if I basically took it from Duelyst.
Imo the best counter to both the arguments you offer against your suggestion is not restricting how much gold a player can receive in a day, but how much they can give. If one can only tip 3 matches a day, then there'll never become the expectation that you should always tip since you would save it for the opponents that really earned it. Also, I personally think 5 is too little gold if this was implemented.
Okay, I'm fine with both of your suggestions, they make sense to me. Thanks for the input! Anything that would make it more likely to be put in the game I'm fine with. I guess I feel like 5 gold because at 10 gold your already pretty much giving the opponent an uncommon treasure (if I remember the value allready), however whatever the community thinks is best I'm fine with. Just as long as we'd be able to express our thanks to an opponent we had an amazing match with.
