Dear Blue Manchu, You've probably heard it a billion trillion quadrillion quintillion times at this point, but, it needs to be said again, for the sake of unlucky intermediates such as myself who encounter this problem more than necessary. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. .....it's especially ridiculous when even the GAME knows it's ridiculous. I would seriously rather put up with Mom and her broken Blocks than to be matched up against anyone 487 points higher than me. In fact, I still haven't fought Melvin or Cardotron2000, yet. Now, I can't very well suggest that Ranked Matchmaking be fixed, 'cause it goes on whoever's looking for a match at the time, and if you tweak the limits, everyone 1200 and up will be fighting either Mom or the 2 Cardotrons when their search timers run out. So, I was wondering if it may be possible to add additional AI's. I even have ideas for some. Seeing as how Cardotron3000 uses mainly ETTSC cards, you could make a CardotronAOA that uses mainly AOA figures and cards. Actually, you should probably rename Cardotron3000 to CardotronETTSC--I keep hearing from pros that he's actually EASIER than Cardotron2000. I've not fought 2000, but, I've fought 3000 on 4 different occasions, and I won 3 of them. Were it not for Bronzantium Plates, Reanimate and freaking Invisible, he would be a joke. Make a NEW Cardotron3000 that's an even more challenging AI than I hear about Cardotron2000. Obviously, a Karen AI needs to be made. I have ideas for all of these AI's and a couple more; what kinds of cards they might use, what kinds of characters they'd have, etc., but, I'd rather PM them to a staffer who would be interested in hearing it; no fun if you know what to expect. Oh, by the way, before I forget, I should mention that Krystalis is actually human and will tell you gl back if you say it to them. Oh, and they crushed me. 6-1 with 2 KO's. As predicted. Is cardotron3000 still around? I haven't faced him at all lately. I think more AI's would definitely be cool, but maybe not any harder (please, it's hard enough when cardotron2000 starts out with 2 toughness and a few broken blocks). Maybe some AI's could be implemented that are diverse in their builds (like 2 warrior 1 priest as opposed to 1/1/1 all the time).
Dear Blue Manchu, It's STILL ridiculous. It's even more ridiculous when, for some reason, you have to step away from the computer when it happens. You know this has happened to you, before, 1500+ers. Sorry, Room9.....I didn't mean to do it like this, honest. =( My rating, needless to say, now looks slightly overinflated and fake. While a 404-point differential isn't as bad as 487, it's still horrendous in a game as popular as CH. It's also bad for the guys up there in the 1500's, 1600's and 1700's and 1800's that have to put up with this happening to them on--from what I've been told--an even MORE regular basis. How many times, I wonder, has a seasoned pro like, uhhhh, @Punf, for example, had to step away from the computer for some reason RIGHT in the middle of a match against someone 400+ points under them? More AI's--specifically, more TOUGHER AI's--would solve this problem in that they'd naturally build up rating by crushing the newcomers on a constant basis before moving up and crushing 1000's, than 1200's, then 1400's, until they literally make 1500+ers scratch their head on every move, making sure it's the right one. Cardotron2000 has likely served it's purpose for most of the 1500+ers already up there. I still have those new AI ideas, if any staffers are interested. Oh, and Room9 is ALSO not a robot and will gladly kick your butt--or in my case, come dangerously close to doing so--while still being some semblance of a good guy, as you saw in the first image. From what I understand, all of the AIs are the same AI, it's the cards their characters have that make them different. So the only way (short of coding a brand new AI) to make an AI harder, is to give it more powerful cards.
@Bluemage: ....and to give it the right characters. Don't worry, I wasn't gonna suggest anything like that--all of my ideas are strictly deck- and character-related.
Haha sorry about leaving like that mikey, I had to go solve a kitchen emergency ^^'' I don't have too many hard feelings for the matchmaking system because losing a few points here or there doesn't matter in the long run. But I can definitely remember a time when I was frustrated being matched against opponents 400+ above me. More diverse AI's would be fun for sure maybe even if they were included in the single player mode!
Why not just add the dragons. My multi player team would ****bricks if I was matched up vs the 3 dragons. It's hard enough in the caverns of chaos. If your multiplayer team can down the dragons then indeed your a god at cardhunter
I think with the new Caverns of Chaos script now being in play, they could add it into multiplayer, when you need to face a GM you get a current map but full of random mosters. Depending on your ELO you face a set of monsters of that level. Example 1600+ is lv 10. 1500 is lv 8-9, 1400 6-7. (if anyone can follow that). I really enjoy multiplayer and this would be a way that makes it more random and would really affect the metas assuming that you ever face a GM, I have not faced one since cardhunter came to steam
in COC you can get VP's they are red and they only affect you not the mobs (limited to some maps but it is random). Reguardless, even with a top team i still dont see how you can face the dragons. There is also nothing stopping the DEVs making it harder to allow for the fact that you have a selected team. But currently all the AI are easy wins, adding more easy wins does not break the game just adds more varity, not saying that i want the AI to be easy, i rather they be broken as hell and make me work for my chest. Hell Just add the white dragon into any team and all of a sudden it gets very very hard as your multiplayer team (well mine anyway) is not geared to face that badmother****er or should i say blitzenripper. The white dragon should be something to fear that comes out and gets you, not just something that you can avoid and never face, he is like the pinicale of this game as it currently stands and he should make his presence more felt or feared. I wonder what elo the white dragon would get to ......
